A year ago I bought some LED cables from Hong-Kong at eBay.
Finally I have founs a final solution for how I am gonna use them.
I bought a number of white and red cables, I will mount them together inside a stringer made of teak (I buy them in lenghts of 1.5 m), the LEDs are of two different length, the red is to spare the night vision. So both lights are never on at the same time, its either white or red.

Pretty nice actually, I will use them as a sort of sidewall light and in the engine auxiliary compartment (an large area aft of the engine, containing the fuel tank, engine battery, water heater, heater and more.

I will be back later in the spring with pictures of the final installation.

The connection of the switches will be of the "stair-type" i.e. ou can switch them on and off from two different locations. The hole boat will be possible to switch on and off at the navigation table, the other switch will be at location. Se a drawing at this page
